Gayathiri
Gayathiri is a Tamil, disabled poet and organiser. A child of war refugees, they're interested in how language shapes belonging and how we might use it to queer the future. Gayathiri has spoken on decolonising literature, access and sex education for Bloody Good Period, Audible, Sex Money Power with Sara Pascoe, Bi Pride UK and UK Black Pride. Gayathiri runs the poetry workshops ‘WORD-BENDERS’ and ‘Queer Poetry Sauna’ at Hackney Baths. They’re a co-author of Sex Ed: An Inclusive Teenage Guide to Sex and Relationships. Gayathiri won the Disabled Poets Prize 2024 and their debut novel-in-verse is forthcoming with Faber.
